A poll of 2,000 adults found 40% of the information Brits consume every day comes from across the pond.

Three out of every 10 Brits are more clued up on Donald Trump than Prince Charles, according to a recent study. A survey of 2,000 adults revealed that 30% are as familiar with American pop culture as they are with their own. The research showed that 40% of the information they absorb daily is from the US β with 23% favouring Taylor Swift's tunes over Dua Lipa's.

Moreover, nearly one in 10 know more about the love life of actors Zendaya and Tom Holland than they do about the Royal family β this figure rises to 29% for those aged 18 to 24. And a whopping 34% of this younger demographic are more knowledgeable about the Kardashians than EastEnders.

A spokesperson from Lottoland.co.uk, which commissioned the survey to coincide with its US Β£520 million Powerball draw, said: "There is so much interesting US culture at our fingertips to consume."
"From TV, film and music to food and drink, the US has no shortage of things that have made it to the UK. Even politics is a hot topic of conversation," they added.
The research also found that 18% watch more American TV than British options β with drama, comedy and crime being the favourite US genres.

When it comes to music from the States, pop, rock and country top the charts with 88% claiming to enjoy some sort of American culture in their British life.
Aside from TV and music, Brits also enjoy American food (37%), books (24%) and sports (17%). While 15% like to celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK and one in 10 mark Independence Day on 4th July.
What's more, it was discovered that Netflix, Hollywood blockbusters and Coca-Cola have been voted the best things to come out of America, followed closely by Rock and Roll, Disneyland and instant coffee.

"It's hard to imagine what the country would be like without Netflix, Hollywood films or Coca-Cola."
