A Ukrainian refugee who was dumped by her Brit lover says she "will not be beaten" despite being left with nowhere to go.

Sofiia Karkadym, 22, hooked up with 30-year-old Tony Garnett who ditched his partner and mum to his two kids, Lorna, to be with her.

The couple had a four-month relationship which came to a dramatic end over the weekend, which culminated in Sofiia being arrested twice in two days.

She was released without charge.

Sofiia is now living in emergency accommodation having arrived in the UK after fleeing war-torn Ukraine back in May.

But even though she's been hung out to dry by Tony, she insists she won't let it get to her.

"Ukrainian women are strong. Vladimir Putin will not destroy us — and Tony Garnett will not destroy me," she told the Sun.

The IT manager was told by security guard Tony that she wasn't welcome at their home in Bradford, West Yorkshire, any longer.

Tony's ex-partner Lorna, 28, claims that when they were all living together as part of the Government's Homes for Ukraine scheme, Sofiia would wear lots of make-up and revealing clothes in an attempt to seduce him.

“I really loved him and thought we’d spend the rest of our lives together and have children but he changed. I think the pressure got to him," Sofiia added.

"We didn’t have sex until we’d moved out. I wouldn’t do that. But he would hold my hand when we were alone and cuddle me."

Tony then moved out of his family home along with Sofiia in May, just 10 days after she moved in to live with him and his family.

The four-month relationship came to a dramatic close on Saturday though when Sofiia allegedly used a knife to stab the wall of their rented home in Bradford.

Sofiia denies this incident took place at the date alleged by Tony - but admits she did put a knife into the wall of their home.

She was reportedly arrested and taken away by police who warned her not to go back to the property over the weekend.

On Monday evening, Sofiia returned and allegedly kicked the door while screaming, "Tony, I love you."

Police swarmed the street again after being called by neighbours and she fled by jumping over a wall before she was reportedly found hiding in a nearby bush.

She was arrested for a second time but was freed without charge.

Tony has since said that starting a relationship with Sofiia was a mistake but, despite the apology, Lorna says she won't take him back.

"It were a huge mistake getting into a relationship with Sofiia," he told the Mail.

"I do regret it. I regret that I've caused pain to Lorna and it's affecting my family.

"But as I said before, I felt (my relationship) was over with Lorna and I hadn't found a way out. Sofiia helped me with that. But I never want to see her."
