- A school has been closed with parents told to keep kids away for the day as police forensics officers work outside the front gates. Cops taped off the area outside Holy Trinity CofE in Bury, Greater Manchester, this morning as parents received text messages telling them to keep children at home.
- Officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were seen placing evidence markers and taking photographs while a Crime Scene Investigations van was parked at the scene.
- The crime scene is linked to a stabbing, GMP said, with officers called to an incident at 9:34pm last night in which a 19-year-old man had been injured. Cops have launched an investigation into the stabbing and four people have been arrested.
- Two 23 year-old men and two 16 year-old boys are in custody for questioning on suspicion of wounding with intent. The victimβs injuries are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening. Police have told the Mirror that the incident is not linked to the school.
- A mum described the moment she learned the school was closed for the day. She said: "We got a text telling us not to come in. We got one which said come at 11am, then another saying donβt come at 11am, we will let you know further details." She described the incident as 'very scary' and 'very worrying.' "I only live around the corner," she added.
- The school remains closed today with a message telling parents it would remain shut for the rest of Wednesday as police finish their forensic work at the scene. Police scenes remain in place on Cecil Street and in Radcliffe, where two of the suspects were arrested.
