Two men have been arrested following reports of a firearms discharge at an address in Greater Manchester, police have said.
Officers rushed to a property on Wally Square in Salford at around 6.50pm on December 4. It is suspected that a man walked up to a property before discharging the firearm, after arriving on an electric bike with another man, Greater Manchester Police said.
The force said one woman in her 20s received a minor injury during the incident. GMP has since arrested two men, aged 24 and 28, on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
They remain in custody for questioning and enquiries are ongoing. Police said there is not believed to be any wider threat to the community. Officers are now appealing for anyone with information regarding the incident to get in touch.
GMP said in a statement: "Officers investigating a firearms discharge in Salford earlier this week have secured two arrests. At around 6.50pm on Thursday 4 December, we responded to reports of a firearms discharge at a property on Wally Square, Salford.
"It is suspected that a man walked up to a property before discharging the firearm, after arriving on an electric bike with another man. One woman in her 20s received a minor injury during the incident, although the exact cause of this is still being determined.
"Emergency services immediately attended, and we have since secured the arrests of two men, aged 24 and 28, on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. They remain in custody for questioning and enquiries are ongoing. There is not believed to be any wider threat to the community.
"As officers continue with their work, they are appealing for anyone with any information of the incident to please come forward. This includes anyone with any CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the area at the time of the incident."
Detective Inspector Louise Edwards, from GMP's Major Incident Team, said: "Any report of a firearms discharge is shocking and is something that will never be tolerated on the streets of Greater Manchester.
"We have been working at pace since Thursday and we now have made two arrests as part of our enquiries. Further work is to be completed in the coming hours and days.
"While we are still establishing the exact circumstances, this was a dangerous act that could have resulted in a much worse or deadly outcome. No-one should feel unsafe or threatened in their own homes, and we are working to ensure those responsible face justice."
