A man has died in a McDonald's following a medical emergency.
Paramedics and police were called to the branch on Stafford Trade Centre in Stafford after the alarm was raised at 6.21pm on Monday.
An ambulance service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a medical emergency. Crews arrived to find a man in a critical condition and administered advanced life support.
"Sadly, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene a short time later."
One person at the scene said the windows had been "taped up" and the McDonald's was closed. They told Stoke on Trent Live: "The police are turning people away. It's obviously something serious."
Eyewitnesses at the scene said about 10 marked cars and two ambulances were seen outside the fast food restaurant.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called at 7.10pm last night (Monday 17 November) to reports of a man in cardiac arrest at McDonaldβs on Eccleshall Road, Stafford. Sadly, the man died at the scene.
"We are not treating the manβs death as suspicious and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner."
