Emergency services respond to the horror incident at Luton Airport

A vehicle is reported to have plunged from the roof of a multi-storey car park at Luton Airport - as emergency services rushed to the scene. A person has been rushed to hospital following a horror incident at one of the airport's sites' car parks shortly before 11am. Bedfordshire Police, ambulance and fire crews are still on the scene.

One eyewitness posted on X: "Traffic being diverted away from both multi-storey car parks. Traffic leaving outside the terminal from drop off and bus area is being forced to turn right via the emergency barriers."

A London Luton Airport spokesperson confirmed a person has been taken to hospital for "further assessment" following the incident. There is no disruption to the wider airport operations, it added.

They said: β€œEmergency services were called shortly before 11am following a single vehicle incident at multi-storey car park 1. Following the incident, one person has been taken to hospital for further assessment. Airport staff are managing the exit of departing vehicles. Arriving vehicles are being redirected to the airport’s mid-stay car park until further notice. There is no disruption to wider airport operations.”
