On the day the Chilcot Report was finally published and grieving families branded Tony Blair the β€œworld’s worst terrorist” for taking the country into a bloody and unnecessary war, we look back at how the conflict was covered on the front pages of the Daily Mirror

The Daily Mirror was opposed to the conflict from the start. In the words of Mirror columnist Ros Wynnne-Jones: "The paper’s opposition to war in Iraq was based on several things, but mostly the realisation that it would lead to the death of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians and cost the lives of British troops.

β€Œ

"It felt more like American revenge for 9/11 than a plan to change the political landscape.

We supplied piles of placards for the February 2003 Stop the War march and vocally supported the anti-war campaign, but to no avail.
