Reform demonstrating it is a Tory Party Mk II, hoovering up failed, disillusioned and bitter Conservatives, is a gift for Labour in working class areas

Who could’ve thought Robert “Honest Bob” Jenrick would be a traitor? Everybody, absolutely everybody... Claudia Winkleman casting this particular Tory snake in the grass as a faithful would’ve relied on criminal gullibility from BBC viewers to miss a colossal double-bluff.
Jilted Kemi Badenoch getting her revenge in first by sacking Nigel Farage’s latest Tory sweetheart was weakness not strength when a Conservative commanding leader wouldn’t still be losing senior lieutenants to Reform UK. Political satire is being murdered by the intensifying uncivil war on the Right of British politics.
Farage attacks the rival Tory Party as utterly hopeless, totally incompetent and a complete disgrace then courts Tory after Tory with slippery Jenrick the most prominent to date. Who was one Immigration Minister when boats weren’t stopped, immigration soared and asylum seekers were packed into hotels? Yep, you’ve guessed it. Dishonest Bob.
While Badenoch posing as a new Iron Lady is laughable when she couldn’t even tame the man she beat to wear the tarnished Tory crown. Jenrick secretly meeting Farage for dinner, discussing defection with a couple of colleagues then drafting a goodbye speech lying around is solid evidence Kemikaze packs zero authority.
One Tory former Minister recently told me the now former Shadow In-Justice Secretary was finally playing a constructive role in Badenoch’s team. If he was co-operative, it was a cynical charade as he plotted treachery. Jenrick’s political journey from Cameroon One Nation Tory to shouty, Hard Right reactionary videoing fare-dodgers and car boot sales is said by erstwhile colleagues to be powered with an even more ambitious wife with the hardest Right handshake in Britain.
Whatever Jenrick’s motivation, bandwagon-jumping and a promise of the Cabinet glory denied him by the Conservatives in high office likely to be two drivers, Farage may regret this dalliance. Reform demonstrating it is a Tory Party Mk II, hoovering up failed, disillusioned and bitter Conservatives, is a gift for Labour in working class areas. Hate the Conservatives? Vote Reform and get the hated Conservatives.
Badenoch for her part is discovering better performances at Prime Minister’s Questions aren’t rallying all the troops when Farage, fresh from parading shamed Tory former Cabinet Minister Nadhim Zahari forced to give HMRC £5m in unpaid tax and penalties, is sneakily wining and dining her top team. Labour will forever be damned should the party and UK Government lose to these Right-whinge chancers at the next election. Jenrick is a poster boy for both Tory and Reform charlatans.
