Superdrug shoppers have been leaving rave reviews for an affordable bottle of perfume they say not only smells 'glorious' but also attracts compliments from friends, family and even strangers. Some customers have been so impressed by the 'soft, sensual and romantic' scent they say it helps them 'feel confident'.
The perfume receiving plenty of praise is the Cacharel Amor Amor Eau de Toilette Spray. It comes in a 30ml bottle and costs £19. Shoppers can order it online or pick it up in store. So far, it has an impressive customer average score of 4.7 stars out of five.
Superdrug describes Amor Amor as a "vibrant floral female fragrance" by Cacharel. It adds: "Blackcurrant, grapefruit, and vanilla leave a long-lasting impression." The perfume's top notes include blackcurrant and grapefruit, while its heart notes feature jasmine, rose and lily of the valley. The base notes include vanilla, cedar and musk.
The full product description reads: "Amor Amor by Cacharel is a fruity, floral fragrance for her that captures the electric sensation of love at first sight: an instant spark, an immediate attraction, a racing heart. Cacharel blends floral and fruit accords in Amor Amor to create a dazzling love potion that captivates from the very first second.
"Presented in a striking red bottle, Amor Amor is a fragrance designed to make women feel confident, feminine, and full of love." The retailer recommends spraying the perfume onto your pulse points for the best results, for example, on your wrists, neck, and behind your ears.
Elsewhere, there are other floral perfumes on sale for less than £30. Boots is selling Versace Woman Eau de Parfum in a 50ml bottle for £24, down from £70. AllBeauty has Jimmy Choo Blossom Eau de Parfum Spray available for £18.25, reduced from £43. Amazon is selling Vera Wang Princess for £17.99 in a 100ml bottle deal.
However, Superdrug's £19 offer on Cacharel Amor Amor has received hundreds of glowing reviews. One person said: "Amor Amor has been my go to perfume for a number of years. I receive compliments from people who are standing near me. It makes me feel confident."
A second wrote: "I have worn this perfume for years… I have had loads of people saying how good I smell and people asking me what I'm wearing. Such a great price and wear as my every day perfume." A third put: "Smelt this perfume on a lady in front of me smelt beautiful asked her what it was and bought it."
Someone else said: "I've been using this perfume for years and I always get compliments about the scent." Another said: "My daughter loves this perfume. It smells glorious on her. I know it will be a well received gift, Fragrance lasts and she gets lots of comments."
However, some people shared a few issues they experienced. One claimed: "Sprayed in and 5 minutes later asked for comments and no one could smell it." A second said: "Very disappointed with this perfume, smell didn't last more than ten minutes. Waste of money in my opinion, wouldn't buy again."
The majority of reviews were positive, though. One person said: "This perfume is so nice and long lasting. I will buy again and again." Another commented: "Love this perfume. I first came across it on holiday and bought it. I always get lovely comments when I'm wearing it. Have since purchased it on and off between other perfumes. Lasts really well too."
