Asda has tweaked its opening times for Christmas and New Year.
β
It is vital you know when your local store is open, to avoid any disappointment. Of course, opening times do vary across the country - but the Mirror has checked several locations to give you an idea of what to expect.
β
To find out the exact opening times of your local store, use the Asda opening times tool on its website by entering your postcode.
β
Most larger Asda supermarkets are scheduled to open between 5am and 7am on Christmas Eve, again depending on your location. They will then shut at 7pm, so slightly earlier than normal.
Asda has already confirmed its larger stores will stay shut on Christmas Day, before reopening on Boxing Day from 9am until 6pm. Its opening hours will then return to normal until December 31.
β
When we checked online today, most larger Asda stores were set to open from 7am until 7pm on New Year's Eve, then from 9am until 6pm on New Year's Day.
As for the smaller Asda Express convenience stores, most appear to be scheduled to open as normal on Christmas Eve. Some will then shut on Christmas Day, while others say they will be open as normal.
The same goes for Boxing Day and New Year's Eve. The majority of Asda Express stores are attached to petrol stations, as the supermarket has converted hundreds of former Co-op and EG Group fuel forecourt sites into the Asda Express brand.
β
Asda Express stores stock up to 3,000 branded and own-label products including essential items such as milk and bread.
It comes after Asda revealed last month that a botched Β£1billion IT upgrade set the business back βby six monthsβ. Asda had been separating more than 2,500 legacy IT systems and moving them on to its own platforms since being sold by Walmart, which still holds a 10% stake, to Zuber and Mohsin Issa and private equity firm TDR Capital in 2021.
Zuber Issa sold his stake in the business last year.
