Aldi has confirmed its opening hours for the August bank holiday, which is on Monday, August 25.
β
The supermarket has revealed its stores will be run as normal before the bank holiday - meaning that the majority of branches will open from 8am to 10pm on Saturday, August 23, and from 8am until 4pm on Sunday, May 24.
β
Aldi has now confirmed that on Monday, August 25, its stores will close slightly earlier at 8pm, instead of its normal 10pm close.
β
Scotland stores stay open later on Sundays, with most branches open from 9am until 8pm. In Scotland, store closing times will remain unchanged. It comes after a high street chain launches 70% off closing down sales as 25 shops set to shut.
The opening times of some stores may vary, so we advise customers to search their local stores on the Aldi website to ensure a successful journey.
β
Meanwhile, Aldi has also revealed a huge update on its expansion plans, sharing a list of over 20 new stores that are set for a makeover before the end of the year.
Confirming its branches in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, and Ebbw Vale, Wales, as a chosen few to be granted extensions, the improvements will take place between now and December.
There are 21 other stores will receive various upgrades, said to range from refreshed fixtures to updated sustainability features.
β
Aldi has effectively improved over 500 stores, with new designs including a modernised layout, an abundance of space for fresh and frozen products, and brighter aisles with more room.
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: βOur investment into our store estate is part of our ongoing commitment to provide the very best shopping experience for our customers.
βBy extending and refreshing our existing sites, weβre providing more sustainable and convenient stores, ensuring they continue to meet the needs of the communities they serve for years to come.β
Aldi is also continuing to open more stores in 2025, with around 40 new branches planned across the UK this year. Aldi has more than 1,050 stores and is working towards a long-term target of 1,500.
The supermarket recently published an updated list of priority locations across the UK where it wants to open new stores. Each site should be able to accommodate a 20,000 sq ft store with around 100 parking spaces and ideally be near a main road with good visibility and access.
