Children are dreaming of exotic holidays at a young age - they want to float in lagoons, go on safari and discover ancient temples.
A bucket list put together by children gives 50 top activities they think other youngsters should have tried by age 12.
Compiled from holiday experiences of kids worldwide, it included making new pals who speak different languages, enjoying authentic bush tucker and crossing the Equator.
Nature and history scored highly too, with floating in a lagoon, going on a safari drive and discovering ancient temples and ruins among children’s top adventures.
For those able to take their children to far flung places, the list flags up a few once-in-a-lifetime experiences which youngsters say made a massive impression on them.

But the research, by InterContinental Hotels and Resorts and explorer Daniel Raven-Ellison, also found simple joys made the list.
Children encouraged other youngsters to build a giant sandcastle, make beach art with shells, get lost in a museum and go to a theme park on their holidays.

Simon Scoot of IHG, whose new app Planet Trekkers lets children learn about destinations though games, said: “It is very important for everyone, no matter how young or old, to have enriching and authentic experiences around the world.
“It is also very important to learn about different cultures and different places in the world, which is why we want to educate kids with the launch of our new Planet Trekkers app.
“It allows families to discover the world together in a very unique and interactive way, whereby even the youngest of travellers can cultivate a deeper understanding of the world around them.”
The list of children’s suggestions was compiled by Intercontinental Hotels in collaboration with explorer Daniel Raven-Ellison.
The new app has been created in partnership with National Geographic Kids.
Charlie Attenborough, from National Geographic Partners, said: “We are thrilled to partner with InterContinental Hotels and Resorts in the development of the Planet Trekkers app.
“We believe it’s important kids learn about the world so we’re committed to inspire and educate them.”
