McDonald's bosses have revealed their Happy Meals are set for a massive transformation. The boxes are known for their bold red and yellow design, and feature a smile.

But from Wednesday, November 5, families visiting the fast food giant will likely notice a dramatic change to the children's menu offering. McDonald's has today announced the introduction of the first-ever blank Happy Meal box, designed to encourage children to express their emotions and stimulate their creativity.
β
In a partnership with BBC Children in Need, McDonald's has swapped out the Happy Meal box for a limited-edition white design, as part of a mental health awareness campaign aimed at sparking meaningful conversations between children and their families.

These 'draw how you feel meal' boxes will be available in all McDonald's outlets. This initiative comes on the back of new research revealing that 42% of UK children aged 5-10 find it difficult to discuss their feelings with adults, but nearly three quarters (73%) say they find it easier to express their emotions through drawing.
McDonaldβs research found 88% of parents said it is easier to talk to their kids about feelings when they are doing some sort of creative activity, and 47% saying creative activities help them bond and have more open conversations with their kids.
Almost four million limited-edition 'draw how you feel meal' boxes and crayons will be up for grabs from Wednesday November 5 - Tuesday November 18 in all UK & ROI restaurants, while stocks last.
