Following the thriller series His and Hers and Harlan Coben’s Run Away, plus sumptuous rom-com People We Meet on Vacation, what’s the next major release you should add to the top of your Netflix queue?
Thriller fans will be pleased to know that Netflix is showing no signs of slowing down as their latest film continues the trend of white-knuckle drama with a stellar cast and jaw-dropping twists.
With just a few days to go before it releases, let’s take a look at everything confirmed about The Rip, from its incredible ensemble cast to what the film’s about.
What’s the plot of The Rip?
Directed by Joe Carnahan (The Grey), The Rip is a thriller film set in Miami about a team of cops who make a discovery at a stash house.
As those inside disagree on how to proceed, word reaches the outside and they’re forced to make an impossible decision.
A synopsis for the film reads: “Upon discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash house, trust among a team of Miami cops begins to fray.
“As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question -- including who they can rely on.”
The latest trailer from Netflix confirms the squad finds a stash of several buckets that contain a staggering $20 million, sparking intense suspicion among those in charge.
While the senior cops in charge of the investigation clash over how to proceed, distrust and personal conflicts begin to bubble to the surface and what should be a simple job descends into carnage.
