Former American football player OJ Simpson, nicknamed "the Juice", rose to fame playing in the National Football League (NFL). After retiring from professional football, he had a career as a football broadcaster and actor. In 1995, he was acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ronald Goldman.
In 2007 Simpson was arrested and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. He was convicted and sentenced to 33 years in prison. OJ - short for Orenthal James - was released on parole in October 2017 after serving nine years. He died in April 2024 after a cancer battle.
