Tatiana Schlossberg revealed she couldn't feed, bathe or change her newborn daughter for one heartbreaking reason. The granddaughter of President John F. Doctors only discovered that Tatiana had been battling acute myeloid leukaemia following routine blood tests after the birth of her second child. She revealed doctors found the disease while she was in the hospital after giving birth to her second baby, a daughter. She and husband George Moran, who married in 2017, also share a son together.

And it was a touching message regarding her children and her illness that now holds even more meaning. She said months before her death: "My son knows that I am a writer and that I write about our planet. Since Iโ€™ve been sick, I remind him a lot, so that he will know that I was not just a sick person."

Writing in an op-editorial piece for The New Yorker, she went on: "I didnโ€™t ever really get to take care of my daughterโ€”I couldnโ€™t change her diaper or give her a bath or feed her, all because of the risk of infection after my transplants.

"I was gone for almost half of her first year of life. I donโ€™t know who, really, she thinks I am, and whether she will feel or remember, when I am gone, that I am her mother."

Tatiana's death was confirmed on Tuesday in a statement shared on the JFK Library Foundation's Instagram account. Her family said in the post: "Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts.

"George, Edwin and Josephine Moran, Ed, Caroline, Jack, Rose and Rory." At the time of sharing her diagnosis, Tatiana said: "I did not โ€” could not โ€” believe that they were talking about me." She added that she required chemotherapy and a bone-marrow transplant.

Following her death, tributes were shared on social media. One user on Twitter/X wrote: "RIP Tatiana Schlossberg, daughter of Caroline Kennedy, who passed away earlier today, from cancer. May she rest in peace.."
