Cat Deeley has been taking festive style notes from the Princess of Wales, this week after appearing on This Morning wearing a ‘cosy’ winter knit. Kate Middleton is known for her love of a Fair Isle knit, and yesterday, the ITV presenter channeled the Royal’s festive aesthetic in a Boden jumper.

The exact sweater worn by the daytime TV host was the Marion Merino High Neck Jumper in the Poppy Red Fair Isle print. It usually retails at £119, but for a short time, shoppers can get 15% off when they use the code RHDT at the checkout, which takes it down to £101.15.

The 'ultra soft' high-neck jumper is spun from 100% premium merino wool, making it a great layering piece as the temperatures dip. Boden describes it as ‘a brilliant long-term investment that you can keep on rotation for years’.

Its poppy red hue is suitably seasonal, while the Fair Isle motif on the yoke gives it a nostalgic yet timeless feel. Think Hallmark movies like The Holiday, apres-ski vibes, or a Christmas with The Royals.

Princess Kate has repeatedly turned to fair-isle jumpers in recent years with one of her most recognisable being a Supersoft Lamsbwool Fair Isle Yoke Jumper from British Brand Brora.

This high-neck jumper is spun from 100% premium merino wool. Choose from cable knit and Fair Isle designs; colour-block brights and neutral shades.

The royal has also sported a Holland Cooper knit both for a CBeebies appearance reading The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark, and during an appearance ahead of her 'Together at Christmas' carol concert.

Fair Isle knits continue to be popular among fashion fans this season, with plenty of more affordable options on the high street, too. At FatFace, this Red Dog Fairisle Knitted High Neck Jumper is £52. Complete with a festive red colour and a flattering silhouette, it's perfect for layering on chilly days or adding a cheerful touch to your cold-weather wardrobe.

At Marks and Spencer, this Boucle Fair Isle Relaxed Jumper With Wool is £36. It's designed in a relaxed fit, with added stretch in the fabric for extra comfort.

Back at Boden, many buyers have left glowing reviews of the festive knit. One commented: “Love this sweater! I usually buy cashmere but the merino wool is a nice weight and not too heavy It fights very well - arms and body length are perfect. I love the orange and I'll be buying a fair isle soon.”

Another wrote: “I received the sweater today and love it. I'm so happy. Sweaters are usually always kind of disadvantageous to me. I'm tall, a normal figure, a lot of bust size. This sweater warms up to the neck, fits perfectly everywhere, the seams on the chest make it appear narrower, the pattern is simply cute and attractive. The sweater is relatively short, but as a result, it does not stand up on the hip. I wear a long vest with lace that sticks out at the bottom, it's perfect.”

Some reviews have criticised the fit of the jumper, with one commenting: “Fit true to size everywhere else but the neck goes all the way up to my chin, and when you try to roll it down a little, the gape between the shoulders gets worse.”

Though nother said: “A really cosy, lovely sweater. The negative reviews do not apply in my case. The sweater doesn't stick out or crease anywhere it shouldn't. Everything is great and I really like the overall pattern. I bought it in orange and have already received a few compliments.”

“Despite the negative reviews, I still dared to order these beautiful sweaters in light blue and poppy red because I couldn't decide. The sweaters fit perfectly, are cosy, great colours,” a fifth wrote.
