A survivor of serial killer Ted Bundy has responded to the 'controversial' casting of Zac Efron .
โ
Some people felt that casting the former Disney star as the murderer was "sexualising" Bundy and his crimes, despite the fact that the killer was famously handsome and charming.
โ
But a survivor of the killer has said she approves of Zac's role as Bundy in new movie, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
โ
Kathy Kleiner Rubin was 20-years-old when Bundy crept into her sorority at Florida State University at 3am and beat her and her roommate with a club.
Some critics had slammed the movie, which recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, for over-emphasising Bundy's charm and good looks.

But Kathy explained why she isn't against the casting choice.
She told TMZ : "[I don't have] a problem with people looking at it, and as long as they understand that what theyโre watching wasnโt a normal person.
โ
"I believe that in order to show him exactly the way he was, itโs not really glorifying him, but itโs showing him, and when they do say positive and wonderful things about him, thatโs what they saw, thatโs what Bundy wanted you to see."
However, a mother of one of Bundy's victims isn't happy about the film being made at all.

Belva Kent, 82, whose daughter Debra Jean Kent was murdered in 1974 at age 17, told People : "Why keep rubbing our face in it all the time? Itโs very hard to deal with and when they keep bringing it up and putting it up.
"Itโs very disgusting to me. Itโs kind of aggravating to me, but I just try to ignore it and move on."
โ
She also said she believes the movie should show people that nobody is immune to this kind of thing happening to them.
The movie tracks Bundy's life from the perspective of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloeper, who struggled to accept the reality of what he was doing.
