Stormzy 'heartbroken' as he announces death of dog he shared with ex Maya Jama - The Mirror

Stormzy has taken to his social media to announced that he is going through a huge family loss. The musician posted to his Instagram page to tell his followers that his beloved dog Enzo has died.

The star has been left devastated as his Rottweiler died seven years after he bought the protection dog for him and his ex-girlfriend Maya Jama. Stromzy shared a sweet tribute to his pet as he announced the sad news.

He shared several photos and clips of Enzo throughout the time that he had him. Alongside the post, he wrote: "RIP my no.1 boy. Don't have much to say, just gutted and heartbroken.

"I love you so so so much my boy. If you know me then you know how much Enz meant to me, gonna miss you my guy." Stormzy turned off the comment section on the post but fans reshared the post and left their sweet messages.

One person said: "I know how that feels :(" while a second fan commented: "A pain that never leaves you and a lot that forever remains unmatched."

Stormzy got his dog Enzo back in 2018 when he was still dating Love Island host Maya. He spent Β£15,000 on the protection dog.

The rapper has been stabbed three times before he became famous and so he went to security specialists Chaperone K9 to get some extra protection for himself and his then-girlfriend.

Chaperone K9 has also supplied dogs to West Ham striker Andy Carroll and Manchester United defender Phil Jones. Maya and Stromzy split in 2019 and then got back together.

However, they then revealed that they had split up for a second time in 2024. The former couple released a joint statement at the time of the break up.

It read: "We’ve been laughing whilst drafting this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we’d be the couple announcing a breakup.

"But for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to allow us the space and grace that’s needed for us both to be able to navigate this next bit of our lives with peace, we thought it might be best to."

Speaking about their romantic journey, Maya added: "We fell madly in love in 2014, broke up in 2019, and then spent five years manoeuvring life apart."

The pair are no longer an item but have reassured fans that they are still friends and are on good terms. Maya said the a fuss shouldn't be made if they are ever seen hanging out together.

She said: "We are still grateful for the time we’ve had together, and we are still friends and will always be friends (so if you see us having a lil catch-up at The Brits or something, don’t cause a fuss, we are dawgs!)."
