Love Island’s Montana Brown has opened up on her struggle to become a mum.

The 27-year-old reality star shared the news she was expecting a baby last week, but has since revealed that it ‘took longer than it should’ for her to have fallen pregnant due to a secret health battle.

Taking to Instagram to host a Q&A about her pregnancy, one follower asked her whether her pregnancy was ‘planned’. To this, Montana replied: "@pippacampbell_health did all these amazing tests which was really insightful and helped me understand why it was taking longer than it should.”

Further along in her Stories, the Swim Society founder revealed that she was ‘trying for a little bit’ with her partner Mark O’Connor before finding out she was pregnant with their child.

She said on the social media platform: "I guess the main thing that was important which I wished I had done a bit earlier was the hormone test."

The entrepreneur then explained that the tests had revealed that she was suffering from low levels of testosterone and oestrogen in the body, for which she opted to rectify via the use of supplements.

She advised her followers to ‘understand where your body is at and what your body needs’ after enduring the test and her pregnancy.

In a sweet Christmas Eve video, Montana shared the news that she is expecting a baby with her 29-year-old boyfriend.

Montana rose to fame after appearing on the ITV dating show in 2017, and showed fans the moment that she found out she was pregnant in an adorable video montage.

She also shared pictures of her and her partner holidaying it up recently, while she showcased her growing baby bump in a bikini and captioned the video: "Baby O’Connor coming next summer.”

In the video, Montana shared a glimpse of the early moments of her pregnancy, with the cute video beginning with 'Baby O'Connor' written in the sand on a beach.

It also showed the reality star attending her first scan as the expectant parents heard their baby's heartbeat for the first time.

The happy couple looked loved up as her baby bump continued to grow.

Montana and Mark - a former rugby player and real estate agent - solidified their relationship last year as they made things official.

Mark used to play for Chiswick and Wales’ 1st Teams, and now opts to keep his personal life out of the limelight.
