The swimmer's mum is banished from the guest list for his wedding to Gordon Ramsay's daughter, Holly Ramsay

Adam Peaty is due to get married to Holly Ramsay today at Bath’s Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul today. In the lead up to the wedding, the pair enjoyed a luxury trip to Lapland after Adam said he was "the luckiest man on earth" and couldn't wait for Holly to be his wife.
But it’s Adam’s family fall out which has dominated headlines over recent weeks, with his mum Caroline uninvited from his special day along with some other family members as well. Reports suggest it will only be Adam's sister, Bethany, from his side of the family that will now attend his wedding.
It was initially reported that things turned sour when Caroline bought her frock, but was told by her son and future daughter-in-law – who got engaged in September 2024 - that they didn’t approve of it. But it was later claimed that the feud between the mother and son began at his engagement party.
The main reason is thought to be that some of Adam's family members weren't at the first celebration and Caroline wasn't impressed. Fans may get to see this play out on screen as the engagement party was filmed as part of Gordon Ramsay's show.
The Netflix series will see the iconic chef juggling opening five new restaurants in London as well as his personal life. The Sun reported that a source said: "Adam’s family were at the engagement party, when relations were much better.
"Things went downhill from there. His mum was unhappy some of the family weren’t there and confronted Gordon at the event. Guests were made to sign non-disclosure agreements and hand in phones as the party was filmed."
Adam broke his silence to share a statement about the feud. In a statement, he said: "For those who know me personally, you know that I work so hard on trying to improve myself as a person who wants to contribute to making the world a better place.
"I am continuing to learn about myself and how I can be the man I want to be; a worthy partner, father, businessman, friend and athlete; even through these challenging times. Bethany, Holly and I will get through this - we do not ask for sympathy. We just need people to be aware that there are always two sides to every story. To those of you who have reached out and shown kindness and understanding - thank you. It is deeply appreciated." In a show of solidarity, his wife-to-be Holly also shared the post on her social media to her 400,000 followers.
The fall out erupted in November when Adam’s aunt, Louise Williams, criticised Holly for not inviting Adam's mum to her hen do. From there, Caroline eventually spoke out and said she had been struggling - but she'd always forgive her son.
In a direct message to Adam, she said: "I know it’s the end. But please, the message I want Adam to hear is no matter what happens in the future, please know I love you, your dad loves you, you can come home and talk to me at any point.
"There's nothing you’ve done that I would not forgive. I love you so much. I hope your marriage is a good one, I don’t wish any ill on you and I want you and Holly to have a long and happy marriage. The reason I’m speaking out is I want all this to end."
In the same interview, Caroline said she felt the Ramsays were very "insular". She had said: "He’s in Gordon’s clutches. I can’t help but feel like they are pulling him away from me. Their family is very insular."
Writing in his 2021 autobiography, The Gladiator Mindset, Adam, 30, spoke of his character flaws and how it impacts his loved ones. Referencing being ‘super focused’ on his swimming career, he said: "Some of the closest people to me take it personally and despite my reassurances that I really do care, they think that I’ve changed through success and as a result I am ashamed of them and that I should spend more time with them."
He also dubbed himself a "selfish athlete", admitting how it can sometimes appear as if he lacks empathy.
