Footie legend David Beckham’s latest goal is to go from being a Red to a green by creating a veg patch at his £12million Cotswolds pile.
The former England skipper has submitted plans for a fancy greenhouse and kitchen garden at the listed nine-bed Oxfordshire property.
Becks, 48, wants to grow fruit and veg in raised beds at the house, which is a stone’s throw from celebrity hangout Soho Farmhouse.
And the former England and Manchester United ace also wants to build the luxury 78 square-metre glasshouse so he can grow tomatoes.
Details of the plans for the converted barn are outlined in an application to West Oxfordshire District Council.
It reveals: “The proposed kitchen garden is laid out in a formal style, with raised beds arranged in a symmetrical format around a central path.
“The glasshouse is traditional in style and faces south, overlooking the kitchen garden, framed by fruit trees.”
Planning inspectors are due to rule on the proposals in the coming weeks.
The Beckhams’ property already boasts a huge football pitch with a stand for spectators, plus an outdoor pool, sauna and safari-style tent. The family regularly spend weekends and holidays at the mansion.
