Capital FM star Sian Welby shared her excitement while revealing the gender of her baby to her devoted fans before taking a break from her presenting duties

Capital FM star Sian Welby was seen teary-eyed as has revealed the gender of her baby live on air and bid farewell to fans.
The 37-year-old radio host was full of emotion as she bid goodbye to her listeners on Thursday while preparing to take time off from her presenting gig. The star was surprised by her co-star Jordan North and the radio team, who held a Baby Shower Show to mark her last week on the show before maternity leave.
The star was left full of shock and appeared taken aback by the kind gesture. Sian also expressed her excitement and gratitude as she gears up to become a first-time mum. However, before leaving the studio, Sian, who previously hosted Heart FM before joining Capital FM in March 2020, surprised her fans by revealing the sex of her baby.
She excitedly said: "It has been an absolute pleasure and honour to share this pregnancy with you all. Before I go off on baby leave I've decided I want to share one more thing with everyone.
"We are a family. And I have told my nearest and dearest what me and Jake are having because we did find out the sex...So I've decided as a huge thank you to all of you that have been on this journey with me, I'm gonna tell you what I'm having." She exclaimed: "It's a girl!"

Back in February, Sian announced to her fans that she and her fiancé Jake are expecting their first child together. The announcement came just six months after the couple got engaged. Earlier this week the star joked that she has left preparation for the arrival of her tot to the last minute due to being a workaloholic.
However, she assured her co-stars she's all set to take a break, as she fears she could go quickly go into labour. She expressed: "I have pushed it so close to the edge that I literally could go into labour during the show, I reckon. Like, I'm two weeks off!"
Sian previously revealed her pregnancy whilst also being on the job. She couldn't contain her excitement as she told listeners: "I've got a bit of an announcement for you! I'm pregnant! I don't know how I've managed to keep it from you for so long. The lies, the deceit, the mocktails! I couldn't wait to tell you. This is a whole new journey for me and I want to take you all on it with me, and don't worry I'm not going anywhere! This is going to be a lot of fun and I can't wait to share it with you all."
Her colleagues were quick to react with heartfelt enthusiasm. Roman exclaimed, "Oh my god! Oh mate I'm so happy for you and Jake as well! " while Chris appearing in disbelief said: "Is this real? It is the most exciting news ever!"
