Alan Carr has provided a romance update after Amanda Holden signed the Celebrity Traitors winner up on a dating app.

The comedian and Britain’s Got Talent judge have been friends for a number of years, even landing a BBC travel series together. Viewers are currently engrossed in Amanda and Alan's Greek Job, the fourth series of their programme following their recent Christmas special.

It’s been a busy period for Alan, who took part on the first series of Claudia Winkleman’s Celebrity Traitors back in October. While not many people gave him much of a chance, Alan stunned the nation in the series finale.

Joined by Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns as traitors from the first episode, Alan managed to win the series and donated his £87,500 prize to children's cancer charity Neuroblastoma UK. With demands for his Chatty Man talk show to return from fans as well as rumours of him taking on the Strictly Come Dancing presenting job, Alan has now shined a light on his personal life away from the cameras.

Speaking to Woman's Weekly magazine, Alan revealed that while they were filming in Greece, Amanda took an opportunity to play wing-woman for him while they were away by setting up a dating app profile for him.

“I did go on some dates on Corfu, but it's nervous for anyone at my age going dating, and then you've got a camera crew too. I didn't get many hits in Corfu, but I did flash up a lot in Albania,” he said.

Looking ahead to a potential fifth series of their programme, Alan shared that he and Amanda have strong interest in Albania. The 49-year-old joked that Amanda could be giving him away if things go well.

“Get yourself a fascinator and some hats because you're going to walk me down the aisle in Albania,” he teased. As for Amanda, she has been happily married with husband Chris Hughes since 2008. While in Greece, she ended up bringing two cats from an animal shelter in Corfu back to their UK home.

She explained: "I rescued two cats! I flew them home. I've got one and then somebody else at Global, the radio station I work at, has got the other one."

While Alan, who split from ex husband Paul Drayton in 2022 after 13 years together and three years of marriage, is looking for love, he noted that some people have mistaken his friendship with Amanda as something more.

He shared: "It happens all the time. We just play along with it." Amanda added: "I probably do spend more time with you than I do with Chris [Hughes]."

Looking back on a dinner had with Amanda and her family near Covent Garden, Alan said that a friend asking for a photo in front of a giant Christmas tree led to him feeling bad for Amanda’s husband Chris.

“She was with her family but she gave the phone to Chris, her husband! And me and her were posing and I was like, 'Oh, no, this is so wrong’. But Chris has got such a fun sense of humour. He's rolling with laughter,” he said.
