Passengers are facing cancellations and delays after two easyJet flights 'clipped wings' at Manchester Airport.
All flights were briefly suspended at the airport this morning (August 15) after the two planes caught one another on the airfield.
Flights were stopped as a precaution while safety checks took place, the Manchester Evening News understands.
Manchester Airport is now running as normal, but passengers are warned to expect some delays following the incident.

One eyewitness, who was due to travel to Marbella, told the M.E.N.: "Just on the plane at Manchester Airport and another plane has just hit our wing and took the wing off."
The M.E.N. understands the incident involves two EasyJet flights which had been due to take off at 6.15am. One was bound for Gibraltar, flight U22267, and the other was set for Paris, flight U22117.
The two easyJet planes involved in the incident will not be departing Manchester, with alternative arrangements set to be made for those affected, the M.E.N. understands.

In a statement, easyJet said: "EasyJet can confirm that two aircraft came into contact whilst taxiing to the runway at Manchester Airport.”
"An immediate investigation has been launched to understand what happened.
"The safety and security of our passengers and crew is our highest priority."

Greg Cawood and his wife were taking their young daughter to Disneyland ahead of her sixth birthday tomorrow.
But the trip hit trouble when the Paris-bound plane they were on clipped the wing of another easyJet aircraft.
He said:
"It's her first visit and she's really excited. It was just a weekend trip. We fly back first thing Monday morning.
"We were due to land before 9am and we'd have got pretty much the full day there. That's not going to happen now which is a bit annoying.
"It's put a bit of a downer on the whole thing."

Tynisha, from Wilmslow, says the collision 'came from nowhere'.
The 21-year-old said:
"It felt like being rear-ended in a car crash.
"It was a massive thud. A big bang.
"It came from nowhere on the right-hand side.
"The plane felt like it moved to the left."

09:15 - 'Confusion' in Paris
The earlier incident has now led to 'confusion' at Charles de Gaulle Airport, where one of the flights involved in the crash was due to land.
It was also set for a return journey back to the UK later this morning, with passengers in Paris now facing disruption.
Should have departed at 9.25 CEST time, but due to the earlier issue at Manchester Airport, it has been delayed until 14.00 CEST. It may well be cancelled altogether.

Phil Aspin was on-board the Gibraltar flight which was waiting to take off when the incident took place.
He says the Paris-bound flight 'went straight into the side of us'.

Passengers affected by the crash have been returned to the terminal ahead of a replacement flight, easyJet says.
A spokesperson said:
“EasyJet can confirm that the wing tips of two aircraft came into contact whilst taxiing to the runway at Manchester Airport this morning.
"The aircraft returned to stand to disembark customers who have been provided with refreshment vouchers whilst replacement aircraft are arranged to operate the flights.
"We apologise to customers for the delay to their flights.
"The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority.”

The incident is understood to have taken place at around 6.30am this morning.
One passenger who was due to travel to Marbella told the M.E.N.:
"Just on the plane at Manchester Airport and another plane has just hit our wing and took the wing off."
