Here, the Liverpool Echo takes a look at the players currently on the sidelines for Arne Slot’s squad ahead of the weekend’s Premier League action...
- Conor Bradley (Knee) - Bradley underwent surgery this week for a significant knee injury sustained in the goalless draw with Arsenal. While it is not an ACL tear, the damage is severe enough that he is expected to miss the remainder of the 2025/26 season. Potential return date: Pre-season (July 2026).
- Giovanni Leoni (ACL) - The teenage centre-back is continuing his long-term rehabilitation after suffering an ACL injury during his debut in September. He has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign. Potential return date: August 2026
- Rio Ngumoha (Thigh/Cramp) - The 17-year-old winger limped off during the FA Cup win over Barnsley on January 12. Arne Slot suggested it may only be cramp rather than a muscle injury, but he remains a doubt for the immediate upcoming fixtures. Potential return date: Late January 2026 (likely vs. Burnley or Marseille).
- Alexander Isak (Broken Leg/Ankle) - Isak is recovering from a fractured fibula and ankle surgery following an injury against Tottenham in late December. He is expected to be out for "a couple of months," though Slot is confident he will play again before the season ends. Potential return date: Late March 2026.
- Stefan Bajcetic (Hamstring) -Bajcetic’s return has been delayed by a series of minor setbacks following a more significant hamstring issue. He is currently working through a specialised rehabilitation program to build up his fitness. Potential return date: February 2026.
- Jayden Danns (Stress Fracture) - The young striker is not currently training due to a stress fracture attributed to "over-training". Slot has confirmed he is not available in the short term. Potential return date: Unknown (February/March 2026).
- Mohamed Salah (International Duty) - Salah remains unavailable as Egypt has reached the latter stages of the Africa Cup of Nations. After Egypt’s elimination in the semi-final stage, Salah will be expected to be back on Merseyside next week. Potential return date: January 21 (A) - Marseille - Champions League
