Everything you need to know as Merseyside to host Tour de France
- Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens will host the finish of stage two of the men's Tour de France in summer 2027, marking a historic first for the Liverpool City Region.
- The stage will take place on Saturday, July 3, with riders travelling from Keswick in Cumbria through Lancashire, Knowsley and St Helens before a "super sprint" finish along Liverpool’s waterfront in front of the Three Graces.
- Routes for the men’s and women’s races were unveiled today, with ten UK host locations – including Liverpool – lit up simultaneously in a nationwide celebration marking progress towards the 2027 Grand Départs.
- The event is expected to deliver a multi-million-pound boost to the local tourism economy, while encouraging cycling, physical activity and community involvement across the region.
- Political leaders, race organisers and cycling figures have hailed the announcement as a major global showcase for Liverpool, with thousands of volunteer opportunities and a social impact programme aimed at improving health, wellbeing and inclusion.
