Home to Wavertree Botanic Gardens, a 19th century public park with a Grade II-listed curatorβs lodge, this suburb to the south-east of Liverpool city centre has a lively high street and a technology park served by its own train station. Close to Picton Clock stands the village lock-up, known as the Roundhouse which was built in 1796 and used to detain local drunks, while Wavertree Playground, was given to the city by an anonymous donor.
