Gardaí attached to the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit stopped and searched a vehicle in Killarney

Three people have been arrested after Gardaí seized a gun, knife and drugs worth over €166,000.
During the course of an intelligence-led operation, Gardaí attached to the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit stopped and searched a vehicle in Killarney, Kerry at approximately 2:50pm and seized €5,000 worth of suspected cannabis, a knife and a number of electronic devices of evidential value.
Two men, aged in their 30s and 40s, and one woman, aged in her 30s, were arrested and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Garda Stations in the Kerry Division.
During follow-up searches at a number of locations in Killarney, Gardaí seized over €160,000 worth of suspected cannabis, over €1,300 worth of suspected LSD, a suspected firearm, electronic devices, weighing scales and packaging equipment.
A Garda spokesperson said the seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis and that investigations are ongoing.
They added: “During the course of an intelligence-led operation, the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit seized over €165,000 worth of cannabis, €1,300 of LSD, a suspected firearm and a knife on Saturday, 10 January.”
