County Kerry, Contae Chiarrai in Irish, has a population of more than 145,000 – the 13th largest in Ireland. It is named after the pre-Gaelic tribe who lived in the county. 'The Kingdom' is one of the most mountainous regions of Ireland and contains two of its three highest mountains, Carrauntoohil and Mount Brandon.
