The man who tragically died in an incident on the A15 earlier this week has been named by his family as 56-year-old Andrew Bontoft. According to Humberside Police, it is reported that, at around 9.50am on Monday (January 12), an HGV travelling on the northbound carriageway in North Lincolnshire was involved in a collision with a pedestrian close to the Horkstow Road overhead.

Emergency services attended and sadly found he had sustained fatal injuries and he died at the scene. At the time of the incident, motorists were being advised to avoid the area by police and the road was closed in both directions for several hours between the A1077 at Barton-upon-Humber and the B1206.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: "Andrew’s family are being supported by specially trained officers and have requested privacy at this difficult time."

They added: "If anyone witnessed the incident, has any information including CCTV or dashcam footage, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 107 of 12 January 2026."
