A Dunbartonshire van driver struck a female cyclist near a graveyard then left the scene before police arrived. Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the incident on the A814, near to Cardross crematorium.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene at around 7.50am on Tuesday, January 13, and the cyclist was taken to Vale of Leven Hospital for treatment. Her current condition remains unknown.
Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and trace the vehicle involved.
Sergeant Fraser McEwan said: “I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the crash and hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around the time and who may have dash cam footage that could assist to get in touch.”
