Potato wedges are a tasty side for many dishes and are perfect for weekday cooking as they're loved by all the family. Supermarkets stock a wide range of wedges in both the fridge and freezer.

For years, I would opt to buy the McCain version. However, I discovered that potato wedges are actually very easy to make yourself and require just three simple ingredients. Plus, it is perfect for if you want to try cut down on frozen, processed food without adding any more time to your cooking.

This recipe cooks at the same amount of time as frozen potato wedges, it is that quick and easy. And, it can be a handy way to use up any left over potatoes.

I like a little bit of spice on my wedges, so have added it in to my recipe. If you prefer other flavours such as garlic or BBQ, simply switch these in instead. This recipe is based on using an oven, but you could also use an air fryer but just adapt the timings depending on your model.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes
  • 40g unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp cajun or fajita seasoning

2. Preheat your oven to 200C fan.

2. Cut your potatoes, leaving the skin on, into wedge shapes. Place them into a pan and fill with water.
