Omelettes are one of the quickest breakfasts to make, but many people still find them a bit of a faff. They can stick to the pan, fall apart during folding, or end up rubbery instead of soft and fluffy. And while the classic method works well, some home cooks say there is an easier approach that cuts down on mess and gives better and tastier results.

For many people, the biggest challenge is getting the texture right without overcooking the eggs. Others say they struggle with flipping or folding, especially when adding fillings like cheese, ham, peppers or spinach. But a simple 10-minute method has been growing in popularity, and some say it produces a tastier omelette than the traditional pan version.

COOKING OMELETTE IN AIR FRYER.

The recipe has been shared by kitchen experts at ProCook, and their trick is to make the omelette in an air fryer instead of a frying pan.

They say the method is quick, requires almost no cleaning, and creates a light, fluffy omelette every time.

The experts said that the recipe can be customised however you like, whether that means loading it with cheese, adding peppers or spinach, or keeping it simple with just salt and pepper.

To make their version, you will need two medium eggs, half a diced bell pepper, 50g of crumbled feta, a handful of spinach and seasoning.

The eggs are whisked together and mixed with the chosen ingredients before being poured into a heatproof dish that fits inside the air fryer.

It is then cooked at 180C for around eight minutes, or until the omelette is set. Once done, it can be lifted out, seasoned and served immediately.

Home cooks who tested the method say the results were better than expected.

One person said: β€œI was sceptical at first but gave this recipe a go. I have to say it's quicker and easier than making an omelette the usual way. For me it also tasted better and was fluffier.”

Another added: β€œThis created a wonderful omelette and I doubt I will go back to making an omelette in a pan ever again.”

A third wrote: β€œWow, wow, wow. Definitely wasn't expecting this. It's so much less faff than the usual way and it makes something truly delicious.”
