As winter arrives across the UK bringing its typical cold and wet conditions, homes throughout the country are wrestling with the frustrating combination of condensation, damp and mould. Dehumidifiers have emerged as a popular solution for addressing these seasonal problems - and Amazon has reduced the price on a compact model that's been praised as an "excellent" solution.
The AROEVE Dehumidifier has been reduced from £35.99 to only £24.61 as part of a limited-time promotion. Standing 21.4cm tall and less than 15cm wide, it's ideally designed for smaller spaces or for moving between various rooms as needed, whilst extracting up to 450ml of moisture from the air each day.
Further features of the AROEVE Dehumidifier includes an automatic shut-off mechanism when full capacity is reached, together with a red warning light indicating when emptying is necessary, plus colour-changing mood lighting. With more than 1,000 units purchased from Amazon in the last month alone, it has accumulated an impressive average rating of 4.4 out of five stars from buyers to date.
However, its compact size means this specific dehumidifier may not be suitable for larger homes or those experiencing more serious damp and mould issues, with the manufacturer suggesting it for spaces covering 10-15m2. Dehumidifiers are offered in a wide range of capacities, from as little as 250ml up to 25 litres.

A dehumidifier's capacity is measured by the amount of water it can extract each day - so if you see a model labelled as 5L whilst shopping, that means it can draw that volume of moisture from the air within a 24-hour period, according to AirConCentre, reports Teesside Live.
However, ProBreeze warns: "Dehumidifier models are tested in ideal drying conditions and not in a real life environment. This means the true rate at which they extract water is probably slower than advertised."
For homes dealing with more severe damp problems, Argos' top-rated choice is the Meaco Arete One 12L Dehumidifier and Air Purifier, which can extract up to 12L of moisture from the air daily - significantly exceeding the AROEVE's 450ml capacity - although it comes with a higher price point of £180. Standing 47cm tall, this model includes a 2.5L water tank, necessitating multiple daily emptying when running at full capacity.
Despite this, an impressive 99% of Argos shoppers have awarded it their recommendation.
On Amazon, one buyer who acquired the AROEVE Dehumidifier remarked: "I'm genuinely surprised by how effective this little dehumidifier is! I ran it overnight and by morning, the tank had already collected a noticeable amount of water, way more than I expected for such a compact device. For the price, this is a total win - efficient, stylish, and practical."
Another purchaser raved: "This product does exactly what it's meant to do. We were having quite a bit of condensation problems in the small bedroom of our house. This dehumidifier has stopped this. The amount of moisture it removes from the air is great. It is quite small but perfect for our size of room."
A third customer noted: "This dehumidifier is exactly what I needed. I use a small room to dry my clothes, and they used to end up smelling a bit off because there's no sun or good airflow in my apartment. Since I started using this, everything smells fresh again."
Whilst someone else commented: "This small dehumidifier works really well for its size. It's lightweight, easy to move around, and fits nicely in smaller spaces like a bedroom or bathroom. Despite being compact, it does a good job of pulling moisture out of the air and makes the room feel fresher."
That said, not everyone was satisfied with how it performed in their homes. One purchaser complained: "It's very compact, but it's too noisy for a bedroom, and collects tiny amounts of water."
Meanwhile, a separate reviewer remarked: "Some days it works other days I still have condensation on my windows."
