Edinburgh police have partially closed a busy city centre road on Wednesday evening. The incident, which caused emergency services to close a section of the road, took place at around 7pm on January 14 on Fountainbridge near Tollcross.

The exact nature of the incident is currently not known, however, one resident reported seeing a vehicle with a "dent in it" near the busy junction.

In pictures taken from the scene, three police cars and two officers are in attendance. A passer-by claims they saw a road closure sign being put in place.

They said: "There was one car that appeared to have a dent in it then three police cars. As I was passing two police on motorbikes turned up and they had a sign up because part of the road is closed."

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
