Fashion and giftware retailer Carraig Donn has warned customers that a number of fake websites are targeting their customers on social media.

The retailer published a list of fake websites that are pretending to be Carraig Donn, warning customers not to use the sites. Many of the sites promise massive bargains on Carraig Donn products, with some even purporting to be a Carraig Donn closing down sale.

In an update, they listed the websites but said that there may be more out there. The websites are using targeted advertising on social media platforms such as TikTok and Facebook to scam customers.

In an update on their website, Carraig Donn said they "have been made aware of several websites posing as Carraig Donn". They said: "The websites look very genuine. They have our logo, products and all products are being sold at up to 90% off. Some are advertising that we are having a closing down sale.

"This is a sophisticated Online Phishing Scheme. If customers purchase from these websites they will not get any goods and they may not be able to recover their money.

"The fraud websites have been advertising on social media platforms including TikTok, Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook plus Google Adwords. It is our belief the fraud sites are capturing customers via these advertising channels."
