TV star Angela Scanlon has declared she is ready to "make sense of the madness" after landing a new BBC role.
β
The Irish broadcaster - who took part in Strictly Come Dancing during 2023 - featured in the two-part Celebrity Apprentice Christmas special and it has now been confirmed that Angela, 42, will present a new Apprentice spin-off programme.
β
This follows comedian Tom Allen's decision to leave the show, reports the Manchester Evening News.
β
The new series is scheduled to broadcast directly after the 20th series of The Apprentice launches on Thursday January 29, with the spin-off seeing Angela analysing the series alongside industry specialists and celebrity enthusiasts.
Furthermore, Angela will be accompanied by the most recently dismissed candidate, as they examine all the happenings from Lord Sugar's boardroom.
β
She said: "Having recently gone toe-to-toe with Lord Sugar in the boardroom, I have never understood or loved this iconic show more! To be part of The Apprentice as it heads into its 20th year is an absolute treat."
"I can't wait to get suited and booted and sit down with candidates and celeb fans each week to unpack the drama, make sense of the madness and hopefully walk away with some business advice while I'm at it!"
Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at the BBC, said: "With self-confessed Apprentice superfan Angela Scanlon at the helm, The Apprentice: Unfinished Business promises more in-depth analysis than ever.
β
"There will be fresh insight into the weekly tasks, business tips and hints, brilliant special guests and candid chat with the fired candidates for audiences to look forward to throughout the series available on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer plus for the first time ever via BBC Sounds."
Paul Broadbent, Director of Programmes at Naked (a Fremantle label), commented: "As we approach the milestone series 20 of The Apprentice, the show continues to go from strength to strength.
β
"We're reinventing our companion show for our loyal audience to analyse each episode, through fun and engaging content, that can not only be watched but also listened to. We're thrilled to have former celebrity candidate Angela Scanlon lead the conversation and invite the fans to join in on the chat."
Tom had hosted The Apprentice: You're Fired since 2019 but has now confirmed his departure.
β
Taking to Instagram, the Cooking with the Stars presenter wrote: "I have decided, after six years, to say goodbye to The Apprentice: You're Fired. I have had so much fun working with the most incredible creative people to make it all happen. I was also getting concerned Lord Sugar might realise I know nothing about business - as above video demonstrates.
"Thank you @lord_sugar @karren_brady_official @timcampbell_mbe for all their support and encouragement at every step and also thank you to each @apprenticeuk candidate and guest panelist who joined me in the studio."
