Aberdeen striker Kusini Yengi is in talks with Cerezo Osaka.

The J-League side want to land the Australian international, who hasn’t scored a league goal since joining last summer.

Osaka are in discussions to finalise a loan deal for the rest of the season.

Yengi had several options in Japan but his preference is Cerezo Osaka because they have an Australian coach in Arthur Papas.

Papas knows Yengi from his own time in the A-League.

Yengi moved from Portsmouth to Aberdeen in the summer.

The Socceroo was keen to use the move as a platform to the World Cup but he has struggled.

Yengi has only scored one goal and that was in the League Cup against Morton.

The striker has been short of confidence and has slipped down the pecking order with Kevin Nisbet and Markus Lazetic being signed.

FC Emmen are also in talks with Vicente Besuijen over a deal for the rest of the season.
