The owners of one of Nuneaton's biggest trouble-hit eyesores have been issued a major warning. Nuneaton and Bedworth Police said the Kingsholme pub had become a 'magnet for anti-social behaviour, drug taking, trespass, and even arson attacks'
Issues at the pub, which has stood derelict on the corner of Abbey Street for more than 20 years, have been well-documented including when police found a huge cannabis factory in production inside the former pub. There have also been several 999 calls to report fires inside the building.
In 2023, conditional approval was given to plans to demolish the building, which was once part of the famed Abbey Run pub crawl. But there has been no action since and planning permission only lasts for three years.

Police, in partnership with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, served the company which owns the site with a Community Protection Notice (CPN) as the site remained insecure, and the owners had not addressed any of the issue previously raised.
It could lead to enforcement action if the CPN is breached. Police said the site was currently secure, with fencing having been installed around the property, and a designated contact in place to notify the owners in the event of any incidents at the site.
"While this is not our first attempt to tackle these issues and get the site secured, we hope this formal notice, along with our engagement with local residents and regular patrols around the area, will reassure the community that we continue to work with our partners to find solutions," police said.
"If you have any questions, please contact Nuneaton Safer Neighbourhood Team or visit one of their upcoming surgeries. Remember that anyone who has information about the premises or witnesses any suspicious behaviour can call 101 to let us know."
Anyone who sees any crimes in action should call 999. Information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
