Three teenagers are due in court this morning following a hammer attack in Coventry on Monday. A teenage boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was attacked in Holbrooks.
Officers were called to the junction of Rotherham Road and Holbrook Lane shortly before 4pm. A 16-year-old boy had been struck with a hammer and was taken to hospital with head injuries.
West Midlands Police arrested three 16-year-old boys in connection with the incident. They have been charged with wounding with intent and one has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We have charged three teenagers following an attack in Coventry. The three, all aged 16, were arrested yesterday following the incident in Rotherham Road on Monday afternoon.
"They have all been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent, with one also being charged with possession of an offensive weapon. They will appear at Coventry Magistrates Court this morning having been remanded in custody overnight."
