Households in Coventry are set to get new bins, itโs been confirmed.
โ
It comes as the government prepares to roll out new recycling rules, which come into effect on March 31.
โ
Itโs hoped the new rules will make recycling simpler and easier, with people across the country being able to recycle the same materials.

Until now, people have had to check what is accepted for recycling in their area because rules are different across different council areas.
โ
We asked Coventry City Council what the new rules mean for people here in the city.
And theyโve confirmed that new bins will be delivered - but not until September.
A council spokesperson said: โThe government has mandated all councils to introduce separate food waste collections โ so Coventry, like councils across the country, is set to introduce a new collection. Some have done this already so people may know friends and relatives who are already getting a separate food collection. In Coventry we plan to introduce this in September this year.
โThe new rules will mean that every household in the city will receive a new container specifically for their food waste. Residents will need to place all of their food waste in this bin and will no longer be able to use their garden bin. This change is because garden waste will be processed through simple composting, while food waste will be treated differently, where it will be broken down at very high temperatures.
โAs we get closer to deliver will be in direct contact with all residents so everyone knows how they can use the new service.โ
