Superdrug customers are singing the praises of a budget-friendly fragrance that not only smells "glorious" but has people stopping them in the street to ask what they're wearing. The scent has proven so popular that some buyers claim it boosts their self-confidence.
The perfume garnering such enthusiastic feedback is the Cacharel Amor Amor Eau de Toilette Spray. Priced at £19 for a 30ml bottle, it's available both online and in-store. The fragrance has earned an outstanding average rating of 4.7 stars out of five from satisfied shoppers.
According to Superdrug, Amor Amor is a "vibrant floral female fragrance" from Cacharel. The retailer notes: "Blackcurrant, grapefruit, and vanilla leave a long-lasting impression".
Opening with top notes of blackcurrant and grapefruit, the perfume develops into heart notes of jasmine, rose and lily of the valley, before settling into base notes of vanilla, cedar and musk, reports the Mirror.
The complete product description states: " Amor Amor by Cacharel is a fruity, floral fragrance for her that captures the electric sensation of love at first sight: an instant spark, an immediate attraction, a racing heart. Cacharel blends floral and fruit accords in Amor Amor to create a dazzling love potion that captivates from the very first second.
"Presented in a striking red bottle, Amor Amor is a fragrance designed to make women feel confident, feminine, and full of love." The high street chain suggests applying the fragrance to pulse points — such as wrists, neck, and behind the ears — for optimal effect.
Meanwhile, shoppers can find other floral fragrances available for under £30. Boots has slashed Versace Woman Eau de Parfum 50ml to £24, down from £70. AllBeauty is offering Jimmy Choo Blossom Eau de Parfum Spray for £18.25, reduced from £43. Amazon has Vera Wang Princess listed at £17.99 for a 100ml bottle.
Yet it's Superdrug's £19 deal on Cacharel Amor Amor that's garnered hundreds of rave reviews. One shopper commented: "Amor Amor has been my go to perfume for a number of years. I receive compliments from people who are standing near me. It makes me feel confident."
Another customer said: "I have worn this perfume for years... I have had loads of people saying how good I smell and people asking me what I'm wearing. Such a great price and wear as my every day perfume."
A third said: "Smelt this perfume on a lady in front of me smelt beautiful asked her what it was and bought it." One reviewer noted: "I've been using this perfume for years and I always get compliments about the scent." Another said: "My daughter loves this perfume. It smells glorious on her. I know it will be a well received gift, Fragrance lasts and she gets lots of comments."
A handful of customers reported certain drawbacks. One reviewer said: "Sprayed in and 5 minutes later asked for comments and no one could smell it." Another expressed disappointment, saying: "Very disappointed with this perfume, smell didn't last more than ten minutes. Waste of money in my opinion, wouldn't buy again."
Despite these concerns, the overwhelming majority of feedback proved favourable. One satisfied customer said: "This perfume is so nice and long lasting. I will buy again and again."
A further enthusiast said: "Love this perfume. I first came across it on holiday and bought it. I always get lovely comments when I'm wearing it. Have since purchased it on and off between other perfumes. Lasts really well too."
