Bristol City extended their unbeaten run to seven games as they held third-placed Leeds United to a 0-0 draw at Ashton Gate.
Liam Manning returned to the touchline this afternoon after being away on compassionate leave over the last couple of weeks following the tragic passing of his newborn son Theo John Manning.
A pre-match tribute proved a touching way to begin proceedings as the Robins faithful and Leeds away fans showed their support for the Manning family.
City started the game positively, bursting forward instantly to create a chance for Max Bird who couldn't quite get on the end of a cross into the box and then continued to sniff around the penalty area with efforts coming from Yu Hirakawa from outside the area and an acrobatic attempt from Luke McNally.
Leeds then began to find a hold on the game, forcing big saves from Max O'Leary after Willy Gnonto and Daniel James both found space near the area with Jayden Bogle also hitting the side-netting, before the visitors slowed it down before the break.
The second period proved to be mostly in Leeds' favour as they huffed and puffed. Brenden Aaronson again hit the side-netting for Leeds, with Sam Byram and subsitute Mateo Joseph both seeing headers sail over the bar.
More touching scenes followed after the final whistle blew, with Manning clapping the fans and the Robins faithful singing his praises back to him.

Interesting decision
City looked to be on the counter as Morrison performed what looked like a brilliant tackle in the opposition half, but the ref pulled it back for a free kick.
Cries from the crowd showed it was more than a contentious decision.
78Malachi Obrey
Reds changes
Hirakawa and Sykes make way.
Mayulu and youngster Elijah Morrison join the play.
City have been struggling to get out their own half the last few minutes so hopefully the changes will provide more of an outlet. The changes are very attacking so it's clear Manning's intentions are to grab three points at home today.

O'Leary bats away
Aaronson has another dig from distance.
The American was probably aiming for the far top right corner but could only find the fists of O'Leary who punches the powerful effort away.

So close again for Leeds
Joseph almost bags with his first touch!

Side-netting for Leeds
It's been all Leeds so far this half.
Aaronson cuts inside on his right foot and aims for the near post but it brushes the side-netting much to the disappointment of the travelling support.
53Malachi Obrey
Vyner off the line!
Leeds should be ahead!
A low ball falls to Gnonto who's completely free at the back stick. His low shot beats O'Leary but Vyner sticks out a foot to keep City in it.
Terrific from the centre back!

HTKEY EVENT
Half time in BS3
All square and goalless at the break.
Leeds have had the more clear-cut chances as the first half progressed but City will definitely feel that Leeds are there to be got at.
Patience could very much prove the key for the hosts.
45Malachi Obrey
Game slows down
Leeds are knocking it about fairly casually now as they look to tire out the City press before the break.
The Robins' narrow 5-2-3 out of possession means there isn't much to aim for in the middle of the pitch, meaning Leeds are having rely a little bit on Gnonto and James creating space out wide.
13:13 - O'Leary keeps it level again
Leeds break again with Gnonto threading an inch-perfect pass through to James who tries to poke it past the Reds keeper, but O'Leary makes himself big to deny the Welshman.
37Malachi Obrey
Big save from O'Leary!
O'Leary pulls out the stops to get down and parry away Gnonto's shot impressively!
36Malachi Obrey
Leeds break
A poor touch from Tanner following a City corner leaves James clean through with the whole pitch to run into.
He runs wide and tries to play in Gnonto but the chemistry isn't there and it's misplaced with City winning it back.
35KEY EVENT
McCrorie makes way
Even more left back trouble as McCrorie leaves the pitch, Naismith replacing him.
34Malachi Obrey
Best chance of the game
Byram whips a deep ball into the area and Bogle rises to meet it at the far post but can only rustle the side-netting.
Closest either team has got so far.
