Bristol City secured a much needed Championship victory with a dominant 4-0 win over West Country rivals Plymouth Argyle at Ashton Gate.
Liam Manning’s side were a threat throughout the game, but went into halftime level with Wayne Rooney’s outfit, unable to break the deadlock from their 13 first-half shots.
Scott Twine put the Robins in front after 57 minutes, getting in front of an Anis Mehmeti shot and directing it goalwards. Two goals then came in quick succession as Mehmeti turned from provider to scorer after 62 minutes, before adding a third on the 70-minute mark.
Sinclair Armstrong put the game to bed in the first of four additional minutes after the initial 90 had been played, slotting the ball to the right of Plymouth goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw.

70KEY EVENT
GOAL! Bristol City 3 - 0 Plymouth [Mehmeti]
He's got a third! Earthy does well to slip the ball through his marker's legs before picking out Wells. He then finds Mehmeti who cannons in with his right foot.

City sub
Liam Manning is turning to his bench for the first time and George Earthy is coming on to replace Scott Twine.
62KEY EVENT
GOAL! Bristol City 2 - 0 Plymouth [Mehmeti]
It's two! Mehmeti cuts in onto his right foot and brilliantly curls into the far corner. He hasn't been at his best today but that's what the winger is all about
58KEY EVENT
GOAL! Bristol City 1 - 0 Plymouth [Twine]
We have a goal! The attacking midfielder has been excellent second half and somehow deflects Mehmeti's strike into the bottom corner. It wasn't pretty but they all count.
56Daniel Carter
Twine forces a big save
The attacking midfielder has been incredibly involved so far this half and he has seen another good chance well saved by Grimshaw.
54Daniel Carter
Wide from Twine
Wells does so well to chase down a long pass and picks out Twine on the edge of the box. The attacking midfielder has all the time in the world to pick his spot but his strike rolls wide of the post. He had to score.
52Daniel Carter
Mehmeti forces another save
The City winger cuts back onto his right foot but his effort is straight down the throat of Grimshaw from the tight angle.
50Daniel Carter
Dickie goes close
The City defender gets up well to win the header from the resulting corner and while his contact is good, Grimshaw manages to keep ity out.
49Daniel Carter
City corner
Argyle make a mess of a clearance and the Robins have a corner.
48Daniel Carter
Solid save from O'Leary
The City keeper gets down well to hold Hardie's effort from the edge of the box. A save you'd expect him to make but solid nevertheless.
46Daniel Carter
Second half underway
We're back underway at Ashton Gate. Hopefully, the South Stand can suck the ball into the goal.
Daniel Carter
City back out
The Robins are back out ahead of the second half. No sign of any changes from Liam Manning.
KEY EVENT
Half-time: Bristol City 0 - 0 Plymouth
The Robins have been in complete control, but they haven't found that all-important goal again. They've been more dangerous than they have been in recent weeks however.
45+1Daniel Carter
Wells sees goal ruled out
The forward has the ball in the back of the net, but the flag is up and it won't count. One minute added on at Ashton Gate.
45Daniel Carter
Vyner close again
He didn't mean this one, but Vyner has nearly scored again. The defender gets too much on his cross and while it was never going to find a teammate but it did have Grimshaw panicking for a second.
43Daniel Carter
Corner to City
Hirakawa wins the Reds another corner.
42Daniel Carter
Familiar story so far
City have been the side in control for so much of this half, but they haven't managed to find that moment needed to break the deadlock. Hopefully, it will come sooner rather than later.
39Daniel Carter
Corner for City
It's that man Hirakawa again who finds himself with the ball just inside the penalty area. His effort looks well struck but is deflected behind.
36Daniel Carter
City should be ahead
Hirakawa finds himself in space on the right wing again and crosses into the box well. Although Wells gets ahead of his man at the front post, he cannot turn goalward and Argyle clear up the pitch to win a corner in front of Section 82.
32Daniel Carter
Yellow card for Palsson
The Argyle defender goes into the book for bringing McNally to ground as he bolted forward. City hage a dangerous free-kick.
31Daniel Carter
Hirakawa goes close
City have just had four of five attempts on goal in quick succession with Mehmeti, Pring, Wells and Yu all seeing their shots stopped by Grimshaw. The linesman has their flag up anyway but it's not clear who was offside and when.
29Daniel Carter
Poor effort from Hardie
The Argyle forward rises well to get a head on a cross from the away side, but his effort is doing little to trouble O'Leary as it drifts out to the touchline.
26Daniel Carter
Dickie can't head home
Dickie gets up from the resulting corner after a bit of head tennis in the penalty area, but his effort is into the hands of Grimshaw to kill the attack.
