Traffic was building on the M5 near Bristol as a result of lanes being closed this evening (Thursday, January 15).
One lane was closed in both directions between J19 (for Portishead) and J20 (for Clevedon) because of flooding, according to traffic monitoring site Inrix.
Traffic was reported to be slow during rush hour as a result. Motorway cameras showed huge queues.
At 6.42pm, Inrix said all lanes were open and traffic had returned to normal.
