The Smiggle store closure comes after TGI Fridays confirmed 16 stores would need to shut down all across the UK. A total of 456 jobs have been cut after its operating company entered administration, yet, a rescue deal has been announced for some locations.
Liberty Bar and Restaurant Group appointed administrators from Interpath Advisory on January 13, with a subsidiary of Sugarloaf, the organisation behind the global TGI Fridays brand, purchasing the business and its assets.
The pre-pack administration deal would safeguard 33 restaurants and 1,384 workers - but 16 sites were not saved.
