Shoppers hoping to bag a cheaper iPhone in the Black Friday sales don’t have to wait as Apple’s latest smartphone price has already fallen at one retailer. The deal comes from giffgaff, which is offering the new iPhone 17 with unlimited data for £35.67 per month.

This is the cheapest price we've seen for an iPhone 17 with unlimited data since the phone launched in September. It works out at roughly £1.15 per day and saves £90 compared to the £38.17 price tag, with shoppers just needing to pay a £40 upfront cost to secure the deal.

Giffgiff also offers cheaper plans with smaller data allowances for those looking to keep costs down, starting from 10GB for £30.67 per month. There are big savings up for grabs when trading in an old phone, with anyone selling their iPhone 16 through giffgaff recycle receiving up to £345 toward their iPhone 17.

Giffgaff currently stocks the iPhone 17 in a choice of black, white or lavender. This is the 256GB of storage device, as well as Apple’s new iOS 26 out of the box.

It’s worth noting that giffgaff’s iPhone 17 contract consists of two elements: an 18-month data plan and a 36-month handset plan. Plus, keep in mind that giffgaff is powered by the O2 network, so customers should check their coverage before making a commitment.

giffgaff has slashed £90 off its iPhone 17 contract in the Black Friday sale.

For those not covered, Vodafone offers the iPhone 17 for £42.74 and £30 upfront on its unlimited data plan. Both options are more affordable than rival retailers such as Sky Mobile, where the same model with unlimited data comes in at £46 per month plus £36 upfront.

Other deals in the giffgaff Black Friday sale include the Samsung Galaxy S25 for £28.09 per month and £20 upfront. The other option is the Google Pixel 10 Pro for £27.53 per month and £20 upfront.

But for Apple fans, our tech expert Chris Hall covered the iPhone 17 launch earlier this year and hailed it as a ‘premium’ device. He said: “The iPhone 17 has a premium design but now has a larger 6.3-inch display.

“That display is bright and vibrant, now offering ProMotion, which means it has a faster refresh rate to make scrolling look smoother. That’s something the iPhone Pro models have had for a few years, and it’s now on the regular iPhone for the first time.

“The A19 chip powers the new iPhone, with greater power and efficiency, and it sees longer battery life. It has the same rear cameras as the iPhone 16, but the most exciting change is to the front camera.

"It has a larger square sensor, which can shoot images both in landscape and portrait and can automatically expand to include more people in the shot.” However, on its design, Chris said the iPhone 17 is the ‘same as the iPhone 16 but in new colours’.

Despite this, he continued: “The new iPhone 17 looks like it could be the stealth hit of the new line-up, with the iPhone Air lacking in cameras and the iPhone 17 Pro getting a new design that's rather bulky.”
