The Good Food Guide 2017 is published today and has revealed what it thinks are the top 50 best restaurants in the UK.

The guide - highly regarded by chefs and restaurant-goers alike - recognises the very best talent in the country.

But which Birmingham restaurants get a mention this year?

Well you will have to travel a fair distance to get to the top restaurant listed in the guide - L’Enclume in Cumbria - which has been crowned number one restaurant for the fourth year running.

There are no Birmingham restaurants in the top 10 - which includes Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck in Berkshire and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London.

The first Midland restaurant in the list is Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottinghamshire which comes third, followed by Le Champignon Sauvage, Gloucestershire which is ranked number 13.
