15 photos of the picturesque Midland village that became a Hamnet film set

Take a look around a gorgeous black and white village that you might recognise from the award-winning film Hamnet.

Hollywood descended on Weobley in Herefordshire back in the summer of 2024, bringing 300 cast and crew to shoot the film about Shakespeare and the death of his 11-year-old son Hamnet.

It's easy to see why. The village is full of cruck cottages, Wealden houses and timber-framed buildings.

Look out for a cottage with a bell above the door and a pink and black house too.

There's a new walking trail to help you see the places where the movie was filmed, such as where Shakespeare (Paul Mescal) and his wife Anne / Agnes (Jessie Buckley) embrace with their children, and where Agnes strolls through the village with her brother, Bartholomew (Joe Alwyn).

Pronounced 'Weblee', there are some lovely places to eat out here, such as The Unicorn pub, The Green Bean cafe, Ye Olde Salutation Inn, Jules Restaurant. and a new cafe called the Wobbly Badger.

Hamnet Behind the Scenesโ€™ photography exhibition at the library, the remains of a castle and a church with a 185 feet high spire.
